A great days bowling (and football on the sidelines) in the Warrington sunshine was had by all. We took a bit of a drubbing from a very experienced (and loud) Leeds side Only Matthew Gill managed a win in the 8 man game and we managed no winners in the 4 man game. The games against Warrrington were much closer, however. In the 8 man game we took three of the first 4 matches, with Fergal Wright, Matthew Gill and Cameron Wright coming in with wins. However, there was a reverse in the second four as only Joseph Jones managed a win and we narrowly lost the aggregate by just 5 points. Ormskirk fielded a strong team for the 4 man though, and took this match by 3 matches to one - Matthew, Fergal and Cameron all winning strongly again. On the day Ormskirk and Warrington both finished with 9 points and so we finished above them in the League, one place better that last year, and only one place behind East Lancs - progress indeed!

We ll enjoyed a long, but sunny and enjoyable day, at the Morton House Club in Dewsbury. The green was running very fast and was really tricky for all the players, with it suiting some of our players better than others. Special mention should go to Matthew, Kyle and Fergal who won all their three matches - in fact, given it was Kyle's debut in the team, it was a truly outstanding performance on his part. However, all the team did well given the conditions and we actually won our first ever match in the 4-man against East Lancs.
In the first match against East Lancs we had three good winners - Matthew, Kyle and Fergal, with Matthew's opponent only winning one point against him. The second match against the hosts Heavy Woollen saw 4 winners, with Cameron adding himself to the previous three winners, but we failed to take the aggregate. Jack came very close to winning with him just being pipped 21-20 on the last end by a very good wood by his opponent. In the third match, which was a 4 man match against East Lancs, we gained three winners (Matthew, Kyle and Cameron).
The final match was a 4 man against Heavy Woollen and, with thoughts turning to home, only one player (Fergal) managed a win.
Man of the match, based on the scores, was Matthew who really seemed to enjoy the fast surface. Watch this space for further action photos from our very own official photographer (Fergal's Dad!)
